Maintenance of tall trees in Parc Nou, Olot

Removal of dead trees and dry branches to improve visitor safety

During the summer and autumn of 2024, pruning and felling activities were carried out in Parc Nou. The main objective was to improve the safety of visitors and those who carry out maintenance in the park. Mainly dead branches and dead trees were removed. In some specific cases, green branches were also reduced.

The Olot City Council initiated the activities following a report on the mechanical and physiological state of the trees in the park. The park is home to some beautiful centenary trees and also a monumental oak grove. The most respectful pruning and felling methods were chosen in the park to limit damage to the vegetation around the trees.
