Cutting down a pine tree in a yard in Palamós, Baix Empordà

Felling with climbing technique, ropes and harness

All trees are accessible by climbing and sometimes it's even the only available method to remove a tree in a safe way. This was the case in Palamos, were a pine tree needed to be removed for a comunity of apartments. The pine tree was in an internal garden without access for any big vehicle, such as a truck or a crane.

The tree was removed with a tree climbing tecnique, using a harness and rope to guarantee the climbers safety. Where necessary, the branches were lowered with ropes to prevent damage. The cut branches were collected and transported out of the garden. Later, a stump grinder removed the stump, so that a smaller tree could be planted exactly were the pine tree had been.
