A great way for testing your own climbing skills is partipating in climbing competitions. This year the national climbing competition was in Boiro, Galicia. The championship was mounted in a beautifull line of trees on a boulevard next to the beach.
The climbing championships always consist of diferents tests related to the daily work of arborists. Among the most dificult tests are the 'work climb' and the 'aerial rescue'. But they are also the best for gaining lots of points. More than strength, the championship is usually more about having good work technique. It's also a nice place for meeting work colleagues and learning about innovations in the world of tree maintenance.
